My passion for picnics started when I was a young girl and my love for them has been consistent for over 40 years.

I have a wonderful childhood memory of my family stopping for a quick road side picnic while in route to a family reunion one summer.  Mama always kept things simple, but she also had this gift of making things feel special. Her menu included sandwiches, chips, cookies, sodas and fruit. And on this occasion I believe she may have tried to fancy things up a bit by staying up the night before to fry chicken. Sounds pretty ordinary, right?  I know, but my experience was anything but ordinary. It was a whole vibe that made a lasting impression.  

When I met my husband, one of the first things I planned was a surprise picnic date on the living room floor.  At our wedding we opted for hand-held burgers & chips served up by our favorite food truck, sans forks and knives, because eating good food with our hands just felt right to us.  When our boys were little, throwing a blanket down and eating on the floor was a common occurrence.  Even now, picnic dinners on the coffee table happen on the regular.

I love picnics so much and have loved them for so long that they are just a lifestyle.
